We invite you to embark on this community-led initiative by the Inga and Kamëntšá Indigenous Peoples of Alto Putumayo, who seek to share the beauty of their territory and ancestral heritage through activities and practices that promote healing and well-being.

Discover the Magic of Alto Putumayo

Nestled in the Andean-Amazonian transition zone, Alto Putumayo is a land of lush cloud forests, sacred waterfalls, and vibrant indigenous cultures. The region is home to the Inga and Kamëntšá peoples, whose traditions are deeply rooted in their connection to the land, their medicinal knowledge, and their spiritual practices. The Valle de Sibundoy, often referred to as the "Sacred Valley of Putumayo," is a place of profound energy, where ancient wisdom and nature coexist in perfect harmony.

This journey offers a unique opportunity to experience the ancestral traditions of these indigenous communities, participate in healing ceremonies, and explore a landscape shaped by centuries of cultural and spiritual heritage.

How to Get There?

To reach the Valle de Sibundoy, you will travel through the Andean foothills of southern Colombia:

  1. Fly to Pasto, Colombia – The nearest airport is Antonio Nariño Airport (PSO), located near Pasto, the capital of the Nariño department. There are daily flights from Bogotá (approximately 1.5 hours).
  2. Travel from Pasto to Sibundoy – From Pasto, take a land transfer to Sibundoy. The journey takes approximately 4 to 5 hours by road, offering breathtaking views of the Andean mountains and cloud forests along the way.

You will experience traditions rooted in respect and appreciation for indigenous knowledge, engaging in practices that foster territorial care and community well-being.

  • Duration: Programs available for 6 days, 5 nights or 4 days, 3 nights
  • Accommodation: Private, double, single, or shared rooms, as well as hammock options.
  • Activities:
    • Wood carving and traditional weaving workshops
    • Exploratory walks through indigenous territory
    • Traditional medicine sessions
    • Storytelling nights and gatherings around the fire
    • Harmonization rituals for life
